The village is situated at 1295 meters above sea level and has 495 inhabitants. This is the main village of the municipality La Taha and has all regional functions like shops, schools etc. The several neighbourhoods that have there own personality are formed around the main square. Much of ther buildings were destructed during the civil war, but the village has still his traditional appearance. Along the village flows the Bermejo river with small waterfalls, mills and iron water springs. Its main street with is typical arches and vegetation. It looks like a re-creation of a Alpujarra home made in the 40s of last century.
