Activities in the Altiplano de Granada



The northern part of the Alteplano is a privileged natural area. It consists of a set of mountains of great tourist value for carrying out activities such as hiking, canoeing (8 euro an hour), cycling, horseback riding, trekking, mountainbiking (10 euro an hour), hang gliding, fishing, canyoning (36 till 45 euros). Most of these activities are organized in Natural Park Sierra de Castril and on the reservoirs Portillo and San Clemente.

It should also be mentioned the existence of a large number of caves where you can practice caving (Cueva del Agua, Los Frailes, La Encantada, La Sima, Toyo, etc.) Bungee jumpers, can enjoy this sport at the Duda bridge.


Swimming can be practiced in the swimming pools in a lot of villages from June until August.

Near Baza the mountain Jabalcon is situated which is used for parapenting and paragliding. Please contact us in order to book a tandem jump.

Swimming Pools in the Northern part of the Altiplano


There are also a few natural swimming pools with hot water like "Baños de Zujar" (water temperature 37 degrees) and "Fuencaliente" in Huescar and the natural pool in Orce (both with a temperature of around 18 degrees.
