Description

This lovely 300-year-old farmhouse (“Cortijo”) is divided in four tastefully-renovated and well-equipped self-catering holiday cottages situated at an altitude of 1150 meters. It is set in two acres of lush terraced grounds in the Alpujarras area of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Spain and situated about half-way between Granada city and the Costa Tropical. With unspoilt views across some of the loveliest countrysides in Andalucía, the cortijo is an idyllic retreat for nature lovers, walkers, photographers, painters, or for those just seeking exceptional peace and tranquility.

The apartment is located in the former stables and has a surface of 65m2. This is a small self contained house for 2 to 4 adults. It is situated on a private terrace (350m2) and has a shaded terrace (25m2) and its own access from the parking. It is facing south west and it is nestled between mature oak, olive and chestnut trees and is very quiet situated. It is a true “home from home”, and is very well equipped and comfortable. It has been entirely renovated to ensure a comfortable stay year round, whilst keeping traditional local features such as chestnut beams/fittings and terracotta tiles.

During the hot summers the garden's many mature trees and irrigation channels create an oasis of shade and cooling water, and the chlorine-free salt swimming pool offers glorious but gentle refreshment. In the cooler months, high standards of heating and insulation and log fires provide all the cosiness and comfort you could wish for. A newly concreted drive gives very good access from the tiny country road for any type of vehicle, and there is plenty of safe and sheltered parking.

The glorious swimming pool measures 9m x 5m and is enclosed by gardens and a small gate. It enjoys stunning southern views over the countryside. The pool is chlorine-free and is cleaned by salt-ionisation and equipped with an integrated PH controller. Due to the higher altitude, the pool is usually open from June to October, but the season may be extended depending on the weather.

The apartment is equipped with all necessary services; what you would expect of a modern house.

Babies are for free until 12 months of age and a cot is available. From this age, children are be counted as extra person. The parking and wifi is free for clients

Minimum stay:

  • July and August: 1 week
  • National Holidays: 3-5 nights, depending on Bank Holidays.
  • Other periods: 2 nights

Other cost:

A sack of 30 kilos of firewood cost € 10, this usually lasts for 2-3 days, but depends on how often the fire is lit

Booking Policy

After making a reservation we will give you details in order to transfer 30% of the the total rental price by bank to the owner(cheques are not accepted). This payment is necessary in order to confirm you reservation. The rest of the amount needs to be paid in cash upon your arrival. The reservation will be established when the payment has been received and be confirmed by the owner (by e-mail).

Cancellation Policy

No refund of the booking is made, in case a reservation is cancelled by the customer.
