Nieles



The village is located at 994 meters above sea level and has 84 inhabitants (2013). Nieles is a small village located in the heart of the Alpujarra with a magnificent view of the Sierra de la Contraviesa in front, and the Sierra de Gádor to the east.

 

The village has been declared of Cultural Interest in the Historical area of the Alpujarra. This includes the village and the terraced crops of the valley. It is one of the crossing points of the medieval route that crosses a path built in the Middle Ages. Nieles belongs to the municipality of Cástaras.
