Small village located close to Embalse de Bermejales. The town has 1280 inhabitants (2014). There are traces of Romain presence. It was for long time ruled by the Arabics and also the home of the troups of Napoleon. In 1884 the whole town was destroyed by an earthquake, but the town was rebuilt in the years after.
The towns Fornés , Jatar and Arenas de Rey are all included in this municipality.

At the entrance of the village Játar you take the right road that that runs along the houses, for a distance of around 2200 m. After two sharp curves you see a wide lane at the right. Follow this, you will see the first facilities underneath and straight south. Go halfway up the other lane to the left, almost imperceptible from the first. This road is leading to a farmhouse that is located at the left from the river. Park you car her. The cave is about 100 meters away.
