Cañar - El Dique 24

El Dique 24 is one of the biggest waterfalls in the province with a fall of 30 meters.  It is a dam that consists of five segmented arch openings located between the pillars. It is located in the Barranco del Chico River between the villages Canar and Soportújar. It was built in 1943.

In the 40s of the twentieth century a series of dams were built to prevent the flooding of the countryside of Órgiva. This is the last one that was built and the largest. It will take about an hour to get there by a lovely hiking route with spectacular views of the Alpujarra.
