Monasterio de Santa Isabel la Real


This was the first mudéjar church in Granada. It was founde in 1501 by the Catholic Queen. The most important was the construction of the proper chapel, being completed between 1520-1525. In 1572 they started building the convent which was completed in 1592. Throughout the centuries, the monastery has been built up an important collection of works of art. Every Saturday at 11:30 starts a tour (donation 7 €). This tour takes you along the main areas of this monument, showing paintings and sculptures of the most important artists of the XVI, XVII and XVIII century.
