Piedra de las Mil Pesetas - Sierra Seca, Castril


Sierra Seca, is the boundary line between the basins and watersheds of the rivers Castril and Guardal. It is located in the north of the Natural Park of the Sierra de Castril. An attractive and uniquely beautiful area. Here is the Cueva del Muerto, where you can see colorful stalactites and stalagmites. Also the Cave of Don Fernando, the deepest in length of Granada, with numerous galleries and rooms of incomparable beauty. On the high plateau is sometimes a lagoon that has been formed by rainwater and meltwater. You can access this mountian from the side of Castril where you enter the natural park. There is also an access from the side of San Clemete (Húescar) where a dirt road is will lead you the whole way up (only with a 4x4 accessible). The dirt road is located along the A-4301 which connects Húescar with Santiago de Espada.
