Natural Monument - Falla de Nigüelas

This large rock accumulation, with marble that gives the yellow color  marks the place where the earth is cracked and surfaced underground. Geologists say that still moves. The movement exists but is very slow and the appearance of the place changes over the years. This failure is a significant part of the geological evolution of the southeast of the Iberian peninsula. It is particularly interesting, because it is relatively recent. You can see the striation and fissures caused by the blocks rubbing together. These formations are usually not so easily to see, making this site an important educational resource for understanding diverse, complicated geological phenomena.
