The water of the pool-spring maintains a constant temperature of 18-19 degrees and a flow rate of 500 liters per second. These are waters of medium mineralization and sulfated calcium-magnesium bicarbonate. The fluid is continuously renewing pool These waters are considered among the highest quality natural baths in inland Andalucia, The water is used for irrigation to more than 300 hectares of farmland in the plains of Huéscar and Galera distributed over three canals built in Moorish times; Alquivira, Almohala and Almazaruca certainly are talking of an oasis in the region of Huesca, a unique and wonderful corner.

Next to the spring is a recreational area with a lawn for sunbathing, toilets, parking, mini-basket, gardens and tennis courts, all available for free. At the side of the street is a cafeteria located where you can have a drink or small plates of food.. Where the water exits the pool is an old mill located which has been turned into a inn.

According to some people the spring water is present since ancient times (XIX - XX). Fuencaliente is the most "wild" as possible, as the bottom is not paved and consists of fish waste called silt of mud, produced by the catfish and carp which are living in the waters. Access is easy, as it has stairs, and perimeter itself is concrete.
