Cortes



The village forms part of the municipality Cortes y Graena, which is formed by the villages Cortes, Graena, Lopera and Los Baños, all on the north side of Sierra Nevada and framed in a spectacular mountain scenery. The name "Cortes" comes from Latin and means "house of labor". In 1492 Cortes was conquered by the Catholic Monarchs.

 

Cortes and Graena are offering the visitor many places to discover by hiking and mountaineering. In its vicinity, you can practice sports such as hunting and fishing.
