It is a ravine runoff, which has only water during the rainy season.

The best way to visit this canyon is starting at Cortijo del Madroño and park another car at Puente Cantor (final destination) in order to get back to the starting point. From the Cortijo you walk down to the Rambla de Alfornón until you encounter a small dam. Next to the dam you follow the path down and enter the canyon Madroño until the point you encounter the second small dam. From this point the narrow gorge starts and the more interesting part of the trail starts. Starting from this point it is requires to use technical equipment (ropes, harnesses, helmets and descenders).
