Barranco de la Luna - Saleres

A very nice narrow canyon with very steep walls. The exceptional beautiful trail that goes through the canyon is only 2,6 km long with a difference of 100 meters of altitude, but it has its difficulties. The trail is partly going through the river water (maximum water level just above your knees) and you need to climb over rocks that are situated in the middel of the canyon, but it is easy to overcome. There are also several sites where you can slip due to clay loam and it is not clean of weeds and brambles where you can scratch easily. The hiking route begins at the cemetery of Saleres where you can leave your carIf you want to make it yourself easy, you have walk the route in reverse. So from the parking you take the road up and take the first trail on the right which leads down to the river. Keep in mind that in slippery terrain, it is easier to go up rather then going down. The best time to visit this site is in summer, because of the temperature of the river water, even in summer the water is fresh after a while.
