Pampaneira

The village is located at 1058 meters and has 352 inhabitants (2013). The village is located in the valley of Poqueira. Together with the neighbour villages Bubion and Capileira it has been declared as Cultural Interest and is therefore protected. Pampaneira has kept his traditional architecture with its narrow streets and houses with flat roofs.

Festivities in Pampaneira

San Anton is celebrated on the 16th of January;
San Blas is celebrated on the 3rd of February;
The Sunday before Ash Wednesday, Carnaval is celebrated;
The Fiesta of the Patron Santa Cruz is celebrated at the 3rd of May and repeated in the second weekend in August;
An Artfair (agriculture and tourisme) is held on the 12th of October;
The Fiesta of Mauraca is celebrated in November.

Points of Interest in Pampaneira

The whole village is an open air museum, the street "Calle Veronica" is the most representative of the town. This street starts at the church and descends to "Barrio Bajo". The street "Calle Real & Passeo de Federico Lorca is also very nice with all its plants and flowers;
