The trip starts at Cortijo del Granaillo, a place next to the river just outside Tíjola. You will float 11 km down the river until you reach Los Limones which is the end of the trip. The lower part of the river Guadalfeo is the more exciting part.  It is graded III-IV which means rapids with moderate, irregular waves which may be difficult to avoid and which can swamp an open canoe or IV; intense, powerful but predictable rapids requiring precise boat handling in turbulent water.

Despite the security that the rafts are offering, it is impossible to practice an activity like rafting without getting wet. Overboard drops are common and do not represent problem, because the equipment that is provided includes helmet, wetsuit and life jacket. The guides are qualified specialists who know the environment in which they work and are able to direct the activities in a perfect safety way. Besides this the experience begins first with a safety briefing by the monitor, in which, amongst other things, the group is told how they should sit (at the sides of the dinghies, to which they are held by anchoring attached to the floor of the boat), the correct rowing position, or how to rescue a team mate who has fallen into the water.
